Halloween Show Wrapup

I'm a paranoid pessimist so I'm not very good at evaluating my own projects--especially when I feel underwhelmed. The Halloween show occurred this past Friday. I was still working on putting up the show when people were coming in. I made a lot of mistakes and wrong decisions but finally surrendered to an incomplete show. The traffic flow wasn't as dense as past shows at the MBT House and it was very noticeable. It was noted by a friend that if it was as crowded as those shows the venue would have been very uncomfortable. The "Duplex" is very small (three rooms) and was filled with artwork with no air conditioning. This helped me think more on the optimistic side and just to learn from the lessons and make the next event impeccable.

Other things on the Plus Side:
  • I had (and continue to have) a lot of support from all the people involved
  • Josh Godin participated (his first public exhibition)
  • Kari Hancock made a lot of sales and the event has led to her opening
    her own Etsy Store
  • PoMoNoBo now has an event under its belt
  • Sarah and Jenna now have an art project to develop together
  • I remembered what Ghosts & Goblins was like on old school Nintendo
  • people created new artwork just for this show
